Our academic field studies program at World International School Cambodia (WISC) recognizes that no single element of learning works in isolation. Our adoption of the Singapore Schools curriculum guides us in to nurture, develop and inspire students to unleash their potential beyond what is normally learned in classrooms. One way of doing this is to provide an environment where we can also demonstrates the importance of taking responsibility for one’s own life journey.
At WISC, our filed trips and excursions program are developed with reference to successful experiential education practices in nurturing and developing contemporary global citizens who are ecologically literate, compassionate and engaged leaders. This holistic program usually starts with grouping the students before field trips to prepare and lead their own experience, the children learn to build capacity to innovate, create and lead in a real-life environment, all the while linked to their academics.
The target for the program is to make sure that it is successful in exploring the academic curriculum within fascinating and often challenging environments beyond the classroom, this progressive experience, commencing from Primary 1 and concluding at graduation, develops efficacy, self-belief, leadership and communication. All qualities key to success both academically and beyond the educational environment.
