Proven research has shown over the years that music enhances children’s educational development process by ensuring improved concentration, better emotional awareness, faster creative. The same age-old proven research has found that music not only helps to develop a child’s senses and self-expression … it has a direct link to mental development, intelligence and memory.

Our commitment to music can be witnessed everywhere at World International School Cambodia (WISC), which is why we introduce music from Pre-Nursery at 24 months with songs and dance moving on to theory and technical aspects of music in the  Primary  and Secondary school.

A love and appreciation of music is seen in our students with many joyfully participating in school activities, supported by a cohort of professional and passionate music teachers. Many enjoy participation in one or more of over 10 choral, string, orchestral or rock ensembles, performing at frequent concerts in our amazing kids or graduation festivals performances in front of their peers, family and friends.

We provide instrument tuition in 1-to-1 or group sessions during the school day for over 600 students across 10 instruments in our Instrumental Music Program. Quality music instructors provide expert teaching starting with the aim to cultivate young musicians who will grow to perform as part of our popular music ensembles. This provides them with a platform to develop a love of music and a likelihood they will continue playing the instrument of their choice for years to come.

At the Kindergarten level, we realise the importance of playing the violin in order to  improve concentration, and combined with the WISC Early Leaners philosophy of encouragement, listening and learning with others, our students foster emotional awareness and creative development.

From this robust platform, students from Primary 1 to Grade 6 progress through our  Singapore Primary Schools music curriculum, gaining a deep insight into listening, theory, music history and some of the more technical aspects of music to prepare students for IGCSE Music curriculum in Secondary studies.
