About the Program
Offered all year round and taught in our purpose-built multi-discipline outdoor courts, the WISC Tae Kwon Do classes are conducted in an athlete-centered, progressive manner where we stress the learning process as well as the learning outcome.
The WISCTae Kwon Do is offered both recreationally and at competitive levels with the aim of developing student martial arts skills to the best they can. The Tae Kwon Do classes are coached by a fully professional team of national level coaches form the Cambodian Tae Kwon Do Association. The goal is to prepare and have ready teams that can compete both locally and regionally.
We are thrilled to be offering Tae Kwon Do as a year-round Developmental and competitive athletic sport at WISC. Whether your child is enrolled in the recreational program or the competitive program, all our classes are taught in an athlete-centered, progressive manner.
Here at WISC, we strongly believe that, the learning process is every bit as important as the learning outcome, so students are grouped according to age, physical ability and work attitude to maximize their learning experience.
The program teaches children physical literacy, a combination of physical and motor abilities, fundamental movement patterns and sports skills. With these skills, children have a strong foundation to explore and enjoy different sports and physical activities, keeping them active and healthy for life. On top of these, Tae Kwon Do also helps develop social skills and teaches teamwork; all essential for succeeding in and out of school.
At WISC, we recognize that children have varying levels of interest and aspiration for the sport, and we provide further specialized training for those with the desire and commitment to train and compete at higher levels. Competitive martial artists are selected based on physical ability and preparation, martial arts basics, work ethic and ability to work well with teammates. All competitions are based on Korean Tae Kwon Do National Levels Program, a training curriculum and competition framework that WISC follows closely, under the guidance of Cambodian National Tae Kwon Do Association accredited instructors and coaches.
